Meet the BlogSqaud for cipdACE16

I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to be 1/8 of the blogsquad for the CIPD’s ACE 2016. Last year I attended my first ACE (you can see my blog here) I met a lot of HR/L&D folk wandering around the exhibition; collecting all my SWAG, which I am still working through using now!

To sum up ACE for those of you who haven’t heard of it “The CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition is the UK’s biggest HR event. Running for nearly 70 years, it is now leading the conversation about the future of work and inspiring thousands of HR and L&D professionals.” On 9th & 10th November 2016 around 4000 working professionals will be making their way to Manchester central for the conference. The Conference suites all learnings styles there are:

  • ACE Talks: A series of thought leadership sessions on the biggest people and business issues today.
  • Case Study: leading organizations sharing their practical experiences from key HR issues delivered by experienced HR practitioners
  • Panel:  hear different perspectives on pressing issues in HR & L&D as they address your questions
  • Workshop: Practical, hands-on learning for continued professional development
  • HR in Dialogue: New for 2016 – interactive sessions shaped and delivered by HR experts and driven by you

No matter what reason you are attending ACE there really is something for everyone to enjoy!

The role of the blogsquad is to cover all areas of the conference with blogs, tweets and of course selfies! We will all be wandering around the exhibition, attending the conference sessions and using the powers of social media to reach out to all.

I must add we a friendly bunch so please do say hey if you spot us!

The blogsquad is made up of 8 awesome bloggers. It is truly amazing to be working with these talented HR/L&D people at ACE and I can’t wait to meet them and learn a thing or two from them.

Meet the squad:

Tim Scott @TimScottHR – Tim is a party animal when it comes to good music, he’s friendly, smart and a very good blogger! I have met Tim a few times at events, his tweets are always full of passion and you can always learn something from his blogs. Tim is very clever and full of enthusiasm; he will be a credit to the squad.

Gem Dale @HR_Gem – Gemma is awesome when it comes to anything social. She is funny, the master of the blog and an utter 1D nut. Gemma is really inspiring and knowledgeable in HR, I have learnt so many things while working with Gemma which has really kick started my career in HR, as she is my boss at work and the person who got me into the blogging community she has made a big mark on me, as she does with so many.

Ian Pettigrew @KingfisherCoach – Ian is the king of live blogging and just blogging in general, he is skilled and very talented at what he does. I have been lucky enough of attended his Resilience training session (can highly recommend) I have met Ian many times at work & CIPD events, I am looking forward to working with him.

Damiana Castle @Damiana_HR –  I first met Damiana  at ACE last year. She is Smart and inspiring with HR. Damiana is the queen of fashion, she’s Funny and extremity friendly. I am really looking forward to meeting & working with Damiana at ACE 16.

Gary Cookson  @Gary_Cookson – Gary has some amazing talent when it comes to blogging, he doesn’t just blog he does it in great style. ( see here his Ignite here  ) Gary is full of knowledge, while I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him personal I do follow his blog & twitter account. He will be a pleasure to work with at ACE.

Natalie Ellis @NatalieEllisHR – Natalie adds a sparkle to all things HR, she is extremely caring and friendly. As I am a newbie she has made it very welcoming. Recently Natalie appeared in people management magazine with how she started out in HR and what she has learned in the past few years. Although I have not met Natalie we tweet on a regular basis.

Priyadotcom @priyadotcom – I haven’t met Priya yet, in fact, we were introduced when the blogsquad was announced. Priya is passionate at what she does, she thrives on ambition and always carries a positive energy in her tweets. As we are both newbies to the squad this year I’m sure we will be bouncing ideas and learning together.

Now you have met the squad all that is left to do is watch out for our updates building up to ACE and of course the event its self. I will be covering ACE on my blog here or over on my twitter @AmeliaTickle_ . Please do get involved where possible.
